Places to Visit


Exmouth

Only a few minutes drive away. It is known as the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic coast and has two miles of sandy beach.

Easy access to this beach and parking right by (pay as you go)

Lovely little marina and an amazing fresh fish shop to buy your sea bass, john dory, crab and lobster along with fish pies, fish soups and fresh crab sandwiches! Find it located right by the marina next to the Chandlery shop (great for clothing!)

Budleigh Salterton



This stunning charming little town is well worth a visit, with its famous pebble bed beach. (these pebbles are protected and there is a fine if you remove them - £2000 per pebble! So please do not take one. The red cliffs are around 250 million year old.

It remains at a slow pace and it lovely to sit on the bench looking over the white bright sparkling pebbles having that ice cream!

Teignmouth


A lovely day/half day out sits on the edge of the mouth of the River Teign.

Beaches are red sand and there is a Victorian Pier.

You can get a small people ferry across to Shaldon for around £1.60 per adult!  It is accessed from the beach and is Britain's oldest passenger ferry.

Beer

Quaint, charming, pretty must see little village!   Watch the fishermen bringing in their catch, there's a little shop on the beach that you can buy this from.  There is a big car park above the village with plenty of green space to chill out and the views are stunning.

Brixham

Stunning little harbourside fishing town. Life centres around the harbour where heritage trawlers jostle for space with fishing boats heading out to sea for the days catch.  It is just an amazing experience to be in this town.  Very scrumptious crab sandwiches are available from Breakwater beach

Dartmouth

Catch the car ferry from Kingsweir to Dartmouth and spend the day here browsing the shops and watching the yachts.  Plenty of art galleries to browse, a beautiful park and plenty for all to do.

Mill at Otterton

The thatched village of Otterton boasts one of the oldest working watermills in the country, and is set beside the River Otter. There is a cafe-restaurant, artisan bakery, craft shop, art gallery and sometimes live music.  Short drive from Exmouth.

Donkey Sanctuary

No words needed!  About a 30 minute drive!   Pre booking is a must.

Berry Head

Combine your visit to Brixham with visiting Berry Head, with is gorgeous working  lighthouse, cannons, 1794 fort ruins, previously an iron age hill fort.

Nature reserve and amazing views

This lighthouse can be seen over the bay from all 3 of our caravans and if you look out at night you will see it flashing.

Sidmouth

Regency town of Sidmouth has a timeless charm that captivated the Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman.  Beautiful gardens, leisurely walks, the time warp ambiance being the perfect way to relax and browse the many independent shops along the sea front.  The red sand beach is truly stunning to the left of the town, right handside being more pebbly but beautiful all the same.

Babbacombe Model Village


Wonderful extensive model village to visit based Babbacombe near Torquay.   Pre booking is a must. 

Also visit after dusk to see the model village lit up!
